We believe that an essential part of developing excellent stage, radio and screen plays is hearing your work read by professional actors.
The Script Readers – founded by actor Shenagh Govan in 2008, offers writers this opportunity at the monthly workshops at Theatre Royal Stratford East.

The reading, with the writer present, is followed by an in-depth structured discussion by the whole group, including other actors, writers and directors.
Writers have found the process both constructive and energising, taking away valuable insight in further developing their piece of work.

Shenagh Govan, Founder

The Script Readers have cultivated a wonderful collective of talented and supportive actors and theatre practitioners who are committed to nurturing new work. The reading they gave my play helped to reveal its shape and sparked a discussion that gave me constructive and encouraging feedback
